If you’re a 48 bra band size, and occasionally find that a new bra from a different brand doesn’t fit you quite right, you may need to try on a different size. This is where sister sizes come in. We’ll tell you which sizes are similar to your current size, guiding you towards finding the right, alternative bra size. Keep reading to discover our sister size chart for a 48 band size.
What Are Sister Bra Sizes?
Sister sizes are the bra sizes that surround your current size. It’s good to know what your sister sizes are, so you can try these on if a new bra doesn’t give you the level of support and comfort you’re used to.
There are many reasons a new bra might not fit. This could be due to trying a different brand, a different style of bra, or it could even be down to the manufacturer. If you do find that a new bra doesn’t fit as you’d expect it to, you may need to try on a different size - a sister size.

How to Find Your Sister Bra Size
When you’ve located your current bra size on the chart, you’ll be able to read across and discover your sister sizes. There is an option to size up, if the bra you’re trying on feels too small, and an option to size down, if the bra you’re trying on feels too big.
If you go up in band size, you may need to go down in cup size. If you go down in band size, you may need to choose a higher cup size. This is just a guide - please note that sister sizing can be quite complicated as you may need to adjust both the cup size and the band size to get the best fit.
Sister sizes can be other sizes that surround the initial size. Take a look at our example chart based on UK sizing.
