When you try on a bra from a brand you haven’t tried before, you might find that your usual size doesn’t fit quite right. If you’ve had this problem before, AmpleBosom is here to help. We’ve put together a size chart to help you find similar bra sizes for you to try. In this blog, we’ll be looking at sister bra sizes for a 52 band size.
What Are Sister Bra Sizes?
Sister bra sizes are the sizes that surround your usual bra size. If you’re trying on a new bra that doesn’t give you the support and comfort you’re used to, you can try on these sister sizes instead.
There are many reasons a new bra might not fit. This could be due to trying a different brand, a different style of bra, or it could even be down to the manufacturer. If you do find that a new bra doesn’t fit as you’d expect it to, you may need to try on a different size - a sister size.

How to Find Your Sister Bra Size
When you’ve identified your current bra size on the chart, you’ll find sister sizes to size up and size down. You can choose which one to try on depending on whether your current bra feels too tight or too loose.
Our general advice is this: if you go up in band size, you may need to go down in cup size. If you go down in band size, you may need to choose a higher cup size.
Please note that this is just a guide. Sister sizing can be quite complicated and you may need to adjust both the cup size and the band size to get the best fit. Sister sizes can be other sizes that surround the initial size. Take a look at our example chart based on UK sizing.
