We often get asked for bra advice when you have different sized breasts. Your breasts are not necessarily exactly the same bra size. Many customers discover this is true for them when they try on a bra that seems to fit one side perfectly, but is a little too small on the other size. WHAT IS A LOPSIDED BUST?

A lopsided bust is when you have one breast larger than the other. It is not unusual to have asymmetrical breasts and we find that the difference in breast size can be very small or one cup size, or two cup sizes. If you have breasts that are not the same bra size then we have some bra advice and tips to help you find a bra that fits comfortably.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE LOPSIDED BREASTS

Our bra specialists advise – “Fit the bra size and cup size to your larger breast and make sure your breast tissue is within the bra cup. Try bras with stretchy or elasticated bra cups that will mould to your shape. Adjust the bras straps on the smaller side.”

What to look for –Both breasts and the breast tissue should be comfortably encased in the bra cups with no bulging at the top or the sides, especially on the side with the larger bust. The bra straps should run parallel at the back and can be adjusted to help with the fit.

TIPS & ADVICE WHEN YOUR BREASTS ARE NOT THE SAME SIZE

Here are a few helpful tips if you have breasts that are different bra sizes….

Make sure that the cup size fits the larger breast so that the larger bust is comfortably encased in the cup.
Choose a bra with adjustable shoulder straps and adjust the shoulder straps to help with the fit. A good start is to shorten the bra strap slightly on the smaller side. As the breasts are not equal the length of the bra straps on both sides does not need to be equal.
Try a bra with stretchy, elasticated bra cups or a stretchy top part to the cup as this will mould to your shape.
A seamless bra or moulded bra can help to hide small size differences of one bra cup.
Try a minimiser bra that gives a rounded shape, this can also help if the breasts are bottom heavy or saggy.
A slightly padded bra on the bottom half of the cups can also help if the breasts are sagging and bottom heavy.
